All students and faculty are invited to watch the movie "Black Gold" on Wednesday September 24 from 6:30-7:45 in the Rich Room. The film is about the efforts of Ethiopia's farmers to gain control of IP rights in the names of their coffees and sign a successful license agreement with Starbucks.
As westerners revel in designer lattes and cappuccinos, impoverished Ethiopian coffee growers suffer the bitter taste of injustice. In this eye-opening expose of the multi-billion dollar industry, Black Gold traces one man's fight for a fair price.
