Law school is more than just Tom Field exams and Marcus Hurn lectures. It's a community of students. There is one student, in particular, who is commited to improving the community here at Pierce Law. 2L Jana Meier is Pierce's official "party planner." At the beginning of the semester, Dean of Students Fran Canning was looking for a student who could plan events for students to bond together, relax from the law school stresses, and have some good old-fashioned fun. Jana was the perfect person to fill this role.

In addition to being a fixture on the Pierce Law social circuit, Jana is heavily involved with campus life as the 2L Chair of SIPLA and a member of the Moot Court Team. With the help of Jana's enthusiasm and creative party-planning skills, PIerce Law students will be treated to an array of exciting events.

The first event will happen THIS SATURDAY NIGHT! Don't miss karaoke night at the Jury Box beginning at 7:30. Students will show off their vocal talents (or at least attempt). Heather Flanner has promised a stirring rendition of "Living on a Prayer." There will also be plenty of snacks and beverages.

From there, Jana is planning an event on Election Day to watch the poll results. She is also planning a chili cook-off. At the end of the semester, Jana is thinking of having a comedy night or "battle of the bands." More events are sure to come next semester, including a fashion show.

Jana is very excited for the upcoming year and hopes to SEE EVERYONE AT KAROKE NIGHT. The most rewarding part of being the "party planner" for Jana is seeing her friends and classmates having fun. With Jana's help, there should be plenty of opportunities to do just that.
