Beginning tonight, the Red River Theater in Concord will be showing the mother of all cult classics.... the Rocky Horror Picture Show. According to Roger Ebert, Rocky Horror is "a horror-rock-transvestite-camp-omnisexual-musical parody." For over thirty years, audiences have flocked every Halloween to watch and participate in this classic. For $7, you get a ticket for admission and an audience participation kit. Show time is 9pm on Friday and Saturday night. Costumes are encouraged!
Also, this weekend, the forecast is sunny and high 50's so get out and enjoy beautiful New Hampshire. Each year, Newhampshire.com publishes a list of haunted places. What a great opportunity to explore the Granite State and get a good Halloween scare. Included in the list is Margaritas Restaurant- the former jailhouse and home of a mischievous ghost named George who moves people's chairs, drinks their beverages, and throws food.
Also, about an hour southwest on Route 31 is the small town of Francestown. There you will find the infamous "Haunted Lake," where in the 1700's two men decided to camp out while travelling to Hillsborough. The men had a fight and one buried the other along the shore of the lake. Since then, there are frequent reports of mysterious loud moans and shrieks.
