SIPLA continues strong IP tradition at Pierce Law

"The reason I came to Pierce was to learn as much as I can about intellectual property. It is great to part of group of students that share the same goals."

After Dave Crosland graduated from Virginia Tech University, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in patent law. The Student Intellectual Property Law Association was helpful for Dave to learn more about issues in the field, as well as career opportunities. Now Dave is the Secretary of SIPLA and wants to get other students involved.

SIPLA has meetings throughout the year and brings in many of the top speakers in the world to speak about current issues in intellectual property. They also attend an annual conference with some of the top IP firms in the country.

This year, SIPLA is also actively promoting Franklin Pierce Law Center as an academic center for the study of intellectual property. They are currently organizing a dialogue amongst students and faculties about the potential merger with the University of New Hampshire and the effects that it may have on our standing as one of the best intellectual property law schools in the world.

Anyone who wishes to express their opinion on the merger may post their thoughts on the SIPLA blog at http://sipla.wordpress.com

If you have any questions about SIPLA or any of their programs, please send an e-mail to sipla@piercelaw.edu.
