Groundhog Day is celebrated in United States and Canada. It significance is whether the groundhog sees its shadow or not determines how much longer winter will last. Hope it ends soon.

Tuesday, February 3

In Japan Setsubun is celebrated, it is the day before the beginning of each season, the  name literally means "seasonal division", In its association with the Lunar New Year, Spring Setsubun can be thought of (and was previously thought of) as a sort of New Year's Eve.
 

Wednesday, February 4

World Cancer Day is marked on 4 February to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. It is led by the International Union Against Cancer (UICC).


Did we know?... Facebook a (the) mainstream online social network was by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. Three Zuckerberg's Harvard classmates, claim he stole their idea for their own site, ConnectU. A lawsuit was filed in 2004 and has been dismissed in 2007 without prejudice but was never ruled on. It was refiled soon thereafter in U.S. District Court in Boston, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 25, 2007. At the hearing the judge told ConnectU parts of their complaint were not sufficiently pled and gave them the ability to refile an amended complaint. On June 25, 2008, the case was settled and Facebook agreed to pay an undisclosed amount of cash and stock.
