fed soc.jpg

The Pierce Law Chapter of the Federalist Society is a student organization that encoruages lively debate on relevant legal issues. They strongly believe that the judiciary should say what the law is, not what it should be. This year, the Society hopes to host panels on topics including the Second Amendment, the death penalty, and intellectual property reform. They also hope to have nationally reknowned speaker to discuss possible changes on the Supreme Court and how President Obama may affect the judiciary.

The Society also attends regional conferences, where in the past students have had the opportunity to meet many influential figures in the legal field including Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Antonin Scalia.

Under the leadership of acting President Saurabh Vishnubhaket, the Society plans to be very active this semester. Planning these events is a great way for students to get involved on campus. Attending these events is a great to way to learn about current legal issues and promote an awareness of fundamental legal principles.
