BLSA Leads Black History Month Celebrations

blsa-logo.jpgThe Black Law Student Association will hold its first meeting of the semester tonight at 6pm in the Boardroom. BLSA is open to all students who are interested in promoting the unique culture and perspective of African-Americans at Pierce Law. BLSA also provides support to students in overcoming challenges they will face in the legal profession.

BLSA celebrates Black History Month by posting profiles of prominent and inspirational black leaders. They also plan several fun events, including Trivia Night for Black History Month, the Pancake Breakfast (co-sponsored with JRCLS), and the end-of-year party (co-sponsored with HNBA). All students are encouraged to plan and participate in these events.

BSU is composed of student officers, including president Adraea Brown. Professor Brenda Reddix-Smalls is the faculty advisor. The purpose of the organization is to support, guide and direct Black students in academic, professional and social endeavors.

For more information, contact Adraea at ambrown@piercelaw.edu.
