New SBA Governors Elected

1L and 2L students elected new Governors for the 2009-2010 school year. Two Governors from each class serve as members of the Student Bar Association and advocate for students' interests. The SBA also funds and organizes events throughout the year.

blanch2.jpgKristen Blanchette (left) was elected as a 2L Governor. Kristen is a Daniel Webster Scholar and a member of the Pierce Law Review. As a Teaching Assistant in the Legal Skills program, Kristen has helped 1Ls to develop their writing and oral advocacy skills. Kristen brings her talents into the community, as well. She has volunteered for the Merrimack County Diversion Program and Chichester Central School. Kristen is a graduate of Dartmouth College.

Phil Appruzzese won the other 2L seat as a write-in candidate. Phil is the Chapter President of Phi Alpha Delta. In this role, Phil organized the St. Baldrick's Day fundraiser. Phil recruited several students to join him in getting his head shaved to raise money for cancer research. Phil is also a Daniel Webster Scholar and a graduate of Fordham University.

Quinn Kelly was elected as one of the 1L Governors. Quinn has been active in the Concord community as a volunteer for the New Hampshire Democrat Party and the Merrimack County Diversion Program. Quinn has also volunteered to be witnesses and jury members in Trial Advocacy classes. In addition to being a sharp dresser, Quinn is a graduate of Tufts University.

Luke Nelson was also elected as a Governor for the 2L class. Luke proudly hails for Minnesota and loves rooting for the Gophers. He graduated from the University of Minnesota last year with degree in Criminology and Political Science. Luke's activities at Pierce Law includes volunteering for the Merrimack County Diversion Program.
