Okafo Elected SBA President

chibuzo.jpgOn Monday, April 6, Chibuzo Okafo was elected as the new president of the Student Bar Association, succeeding outgoing president Shauna Kay-Hall. After graduating from Big 10-doormat Michigan, Okafo came to Pierce Law and has been actively involved in the school. He has served as 2L Governor, treasurer for the Black Student Bar Association, and a member of the Bookstore Board. Chibuzo has had an integral role in planning for Pierce Law's biggest annual events: JIVE and Barrister's Ball. He also works in the Admissions Office and can often be seen helping students at the Library Desk.

Chibuzo's goals for next year include providing more opportunites for students and faculty to excange ideas affecting them. This year, Chibuzo helped organize a sucessful forum for students to discuss the proposed merger with the University of New Hampshire. Balancing schoolwork and life beyond the classroom is also an important priority for Chibuzo. He hopes to see more social events at Pierce Law and provide support to student organizations.
