Planned Interruption to Student E-mail Friday

In order to fix the student e-mail problems that have occurred throughout the past month, we need to shut down the student post office this Friday, 4/10 at 7 am. The problem is hardware related, so we need to copy the post office to another location; and in order to do that without losing any email, the student post office must be completely shut down.

The entire process should take about 24 hours, during which time student e-mail will be completely unavailable. We will be monitoring the progress, and as soon everything is complete, we will bring student e-mail back up. All e-mail sent to you during the outage will be held in queue and delivered once the post office is back up and running.

We were hoping to hold off on this procedure until the spring semester's completion, but we must do it now in order to restore stability to student e-mail.

Apologies for the inconvenience.
